Located in Montezuma, New Mexico
Prisms imbedded in the windows of
the United World College Light Sanctuary allow light to filter
through and splash a full color spectrum rainbow on the walls
and floors of the sanctuary creating a highly spiritual place
for meditation and relaxation.
The walls of the main cylinder and
the apses are angled to respond to seasonal and solar events which
are further enhanced by prisms. These 24 large prisms are placed
with precision in wall and ceiling openings to create a yearly
celebration of the visible light spectrum.
The facility is located in a dense
forest, with extra care taken to harm as little of the vegetation
as possible.
