Building committees sometimes have difficulty understanding each other and coming together as a cohesive whole - as if their language has been confused! This is not surprising, given that committee members come from all walks of life and bring a variety of talents and view points to the group.

While it may seem you are facing an overwhelming task take heart! Remember, the very first "church relocation committee" wouldn't go into the promised land, even though they had the power of God on their side!

We are here to help. Let us help you build consenses within your building committee. Our highly interactive workshops are a great way to develop a program and a conceptual design.

It is here that the goals and needs of the project are well defined, facts about the site, the budget and time schedule are defined, and a clear mission statement is developed.

Only after such a planning and programming process can a design be carried forward that will serve your stated purposes, incorporating all of the important spiritual elements.

We listen carefully to the committee to fully understand all their concerns. We strive to go beyond solutions to give you added value. Our goal in designing and planning projects is to create well thought-out facilities that are functional, accessible, safe, durable, low maintenance, beautiful and a source of congregation and community pride. But we also want to minimize problems in the design phase and construction process.

Fellowship needs continue to change and new concerns impact the emphasis of others. The function of your facility will inevitably change over time, and these changes will cause the facility to become prematurely obsolete if it is not designed with flexibility in mind. We are is committed to providing our clients with the maximum flexibility possible in the design of their facility.

We recognize that it is difficult for many of people to visualize interior spaces. We prepare detailed interior design boards with important finishes and colors that help decision makers understand what the finished space will look like. In addition, we design all of our projects in 3-D software, and have the capability to virtually walk through spaces as they are being designed.

In design and planning meetings with the committee, we:

- Establish goals and develop a vision statement

- Determine design criteria and needs

- Identify special conditions

- Develop priorities

- Explore possible opportunities

- Identify project constraints

- Develop multiple design alternatives

- Review and analyze solutions

- Obtain consensus, buy-in and support
